Well, P2000 worth of gas can get you quite close to a full tank.

Paddington Station

When we arrived at Heathrow, we took a cab from the airport to the hotel. It was a nice ride, about 30 minutes long, but with four other people, plus luggage, I felt claustrophobic. The staccato traffic also helped with my car sickness.

I now know better. An express train between Paddington and Heathrow only took 15 minutes. I was about to take a short nap when we were already at the terminal.

Posted on: April 28th, 2008 Long flight

I am on the way to London to attend SAS’s Premier Business Leadership conference. This will be my first trip ever to London. It will also be my first trip to a European country as well. Moreover, it is my first trip in a business class section that offers seat that extends to a fully-reclined bed.

Being able to as lay as close to 180-degrees on a long-haul flight has incredible advantages. Getting some sleep is now a piece of cake. My trip to London is via Abu Dhabi—the first leg (Manila to Abu Dhabi) took about 8 hours, the second leg (Abu Dhabi to London) took another 8 hours. Prior to this trip, my longest trip in business class was a trip from Tokyo to Singapore, which took 8 hours. That trip was more than 10 years ago, and there were no business class seats that reclined into a bed. After about the 5 hour mark, I was already beginning to cramp.

Today’s unexpected inclement weather gave me an opportunity to take some creative pics.

Posted on: April 22nd, 2008 Project 365

It’s official. Today will be the start of a new photo project: Project 365. Inspired by an article in Photojojo, the objective is to take one photo a day for one year. Actually, I’ve tried doing this several times but I get bogged down and lazy and lose momentum. But this time I vow to complete it.

I have actually no excuse. I have a D-SLR, a Canon compact digicam, and a camera phone. Only a lack of inspiration and motivation will get me to fail.

I’ve also signed up at the Project 365 Flickr group, hopefully to gain more support and keep the project going. What’s interesting about the Flickr group is that they also suggest some weekly challenges. For example, the challenge for this week is “Primary Colors,” which may prove to be a challenge since I am color-blind.
