Office tidbits
I've not described my day job in my blurb almost on purpose. In the day I work in an office selling office supplies such as pens and pen holders. If it is plastic and it can be put on your desk then I am confident we have it in our inventory. Sure enough I have some tidbits about office stationary and equipment!
The first tidbit was most office injuries that do not require excessive hospital treatment are caused by staplers, it is estimated that each year 24,000 staple related accidents are reported in offices around the UK. The most common being people stapling there hands. The second tidbit offices lose the equivalent to 200,000 man hours a year to ailments such as colds and 'flus that require rest or relaxation rather than direct medical intervention. Last year when the swine flu epidemic came to its peak, it was estimated this figure increased to nearly double. Lastly, my third tidbit is more and more offices are now moving into serviced office space. Our office when it moved from Leeds to Manchester office space decided to take this option. It meant we had desks already to move to and our internet connection was running before even a keyboard was tapped.
